Our Jewellers Insight into the Custom Process of the Brownlow

At Peppermint Grove Jewellers, our passion is to create custom pieces that perfectly complement our clients' unique styles and special occasions. This year, one of our jewellers and designers, Mckenzie, had the honour of working with Lizzie Stock and Chloe Furnari. The fiancés of co-captains Andy Brayshaw and Caleb Serong of the Fremantle Dockers, to create custom statement jewellery for the AFL Brownlow Medal night. Read more below to hear her perspective on the process.

McKenzie’s Journey as the Jeweller

The Collaborative Process:

After these beautiful women had their custom dresses designed, they visited me in-store and sat down with me to discuss their vision. They brought detailed drawings of their dresses and shared their ideas for the jewellery pieces that would best enhance their outfits. Through our conversation, we decided that a statement necklace would be the perfect choice to elevate both of their complete looks.

We started by discussing their style of jewels, including the type of pieces they like to wear and the colours that complement their skin tones. The women brought some inspiration pictures, and we had a collaborative brainstorming session to finalise the design brief.

After our initial meeting, I carefully sketched the proposed pieces, ensuring that every detail was perfect. We scheduled a follow-up meeting to review the designs together. With their feedback, we made some adjustments and created 3D-printed prototypes to provide a clear visual representation of the final pieces.

Once everyone was happy with the designs, I started the crafted process. I was excited to begin working on the pieces and witness them come to life in my hands. Each piece was made with the utmost care and precision in our in-house workshop, located on the same premises as our showroom.

The Final Reveal:

Once I had finished the pieces, the ladies came to our showroom for the final fitting. I ensured that each necklace complemented their dresses perfectly and positioned perfectly on their neckline. We then added some of our signature pieces, such as our diamond tennis bracelets, as well as some diamond rings and earrings, to further elevate their overall look.

The result was a collection of stunning, bespoke jewellery pieces that not only matched their outfits but also reflected their personal styles, making the Brownlow Medal night truly unforgettable for them.
